What our Students say
"Pursuing my degree at UWL RAK for the past 3 years has been an exciting and rewarding journey! Throughout the years there's much I've picked up and much I’ve left behind. The ability to work under pressure, learning to structure my thoughts and embrace diversity are some of the key things I've picked up during my time at uni. On the way, I’ve lost my fear of the unknown and a tendency to stick to my comfort zone. Looking back, I believe our time here has flown by too soon, the year we lost to covid may be partly why. I am however grateful for the time here, the supportive environment, the opportunities, the good learnings, and the excellent memories. I look forward to continuing to be a part of the wider UWL family. "
Aysha Ferry, Valedictorian
"I chose UWL-RAK because, fresh out of high school with no clue what to do for my future like most other students, UWL offered a safe and sound course and environment where I could see myself one day. Being in final year of university and the last semester nearing to the end, it’s safe to say I’ll miss the place for the very limited yet very special memories I’ve created these years even though COVID19 robbed us off a lot of time. And that’s precisely why I promised myself I would make the most out of my final year when we got the news of the University reopening. Never would I have thought I’d be standing for elections and representing an entire institution but here I am as a student body President. I’m thankful for the opportunities that I’ve gotten and grateful for the people I’ve met and learned things from during this time."
Aysha Abdurahim, BA (Hons) Business Studies
"I am a first year student studying BA (Hons) Business Studies. This course equips you with skills that are needed for the dynamic Business World of today. The University in general has a safe and secure environment filled with delightful people including the staff and students. It is a career based university which helps students achieve the skills required to attain their future career. The university also encourages students to represent their talents and provides them with opportunities to showcase their abilities. It hosted great events even during the limitations of the pandemic and I look forward to experiencing more of them! Furthermore, I myself have created a ton of remarkable memories with the people I adore in this University and have met many of those that might even stay a life time. Lastly, being a first year student can sometimes be difficult as you are new to many things, but due to the helpful environment the university holds, I have adjusted well. "
Sana Yasin, BA (Hons) Business Studies
"I'm a student of BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance, level 6. I've always been a sports lover. Whether its cricket, Combat sports or motorsports, I love them all. The adrenaline rush I get from Racing is unmatched. I think sports has improved my communication and interpersonal skills along with my leadership quality. Representing UWL in the indoor cricket tournament filled me with a sense of pride and belonging that I will never forget. In a few months, I will be graduating and I want to make the most out of every moment. They say "sometimes it’s not about the destination but the journey that makes life beautiful" and I've made memories here that I will cherish for the rest of my life!"
Fayez Malik, BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance
"UWL's chief asset has got to be their knowledgeable and experienced faculty. The University's attempts to provide the students with opportunities to enhance their career-focused skills are also appreciated."

"I am a first year student studying BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance. I really love it when I am completely immersed in tasks and have goals to achieve, therefore I involve myself in different activities like dancing, painting, public speaking etc and strive to excel in them. I also enjoy working with numbers and hence the course I chose. One thing I am really proud of are my achievements and long-term practice in martial arts. I also enjoy working with new people, putting together various ideas and implementing them. Traveling being one of the things I am passionate about, I aspire to work at a place that involves traveling around the globe. In just a few months, UWL has given me the opportunities to showcase and develop my skills. Whether it is ideas or working with a team through assisting in events organization or exhibiting my leadership skills during election campaigns.. UWL has always been there! "
