Student visas are granted for a duration of 12 months at a time. Consequently, an undergraduate student may need to renew their visa two or three times throughout their course of study at UWL RAK.
Student visa sponsorship is exclusively available to students who have accepted their admission offer, fulfilled all academic requirements (if any), settled their tuition fees, as well as the student visa charges and deposit.
The processing typically takes 18-22 days, during which applications are subject to security checks conducted by UAE government authorities. Students from certain countries may be required to provide additional documentation as stipulated by UAE government authorities, which may occasionally lead to delays beyond the control of UWL RAK.
For inquiries concerning part-time job or internship terms and eligibility, please direct your questions to the visa office at the university.
All students applying for a university-sponsored visa must undergo a medical check in the UAE.
In the unlikely event that your student visa application is unsuccessful, the visa deposit will be refunded. However, the UAE government may retain the student visa processing fee.
Any fines, penalties, or additional charges incurred due to late submission of required documents will be the sole responsibility of the student.
If a student withdraws or defers their studies, their student visa must be cancelled. Failure to do so will result in non-refundable advance payments of school fees. If the student wishes to rejoin at a later date, a new student visa may be applied for, with corresponding fees, subject to approval from higher authorities at the university.
Student visa charges are determined by RAKEZ UAE and may be subject to change.
The responsibility for renewing the student visa lies with the student. The necessary visa renewal forms, evidence of payment, and any other required documentation must be lodged with visa office at least one month before the visa's expiry date.
It is imperative for the student to remain in the country throughout the entire visa renewal process.
The visa renewal procedure typically spans 15-20 days, during which the student is required to undergo a medical examination.
A student's visa will be revoked under the following circumstances: upon completion of their studies, if they opt to defer, interrupt, or withdraw from their studies, upon conviction of a criminal offense, or for failure to comply with the university's rules and regulations.
If a student remains out of the country continuously for six months, their student visa will become void, and re-entry to the UAE will not be possible unless the visa is formally canceled while they are outside the UAE. Additional cancellation and penalty fees may be applicable.
To initiate the visa cancellation process and obtain information on the necessary documentation, students must contact the visa office.
Failure to cancel the visa or leave the country after the provided grace period may result in the university reporting the student to immigration authorities and initiating an absconding case. The student's visa deposit will be used to process this request. Once the case is resolved, the student will be permanently barred from entering the country and applying for any type of visa in the future.
Refunds of the visa deposit will only be issued if the student submits the required documents and they are verified by immigration authorities. This process typically takes 25 to 30 days.
Transportation available for students from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, UAQ, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
