Dear students,

Do not ignore this amazing professional networking platform. LinkedIn can help you find jobs as soon as you graduate from college. Hence you should spend more time on LinkedIn than any other social media platform.

In this blog post, we give you five compelling reasons to do so!

1) Get job email alerts.

In here you can set email alerts to receive notifications of preferred jobs, from across the world. Job notifications delivered to your inbox!!!

2) Connecting with decision makers and recruiters.

Do a search using the keywords “recruiter” or “Talent acquisition,” and voila! there they are. You can also search for specific profiles like “CFO, XYZ organization” and connect with them all. The stronger your network, better your chances of getting a plum job.

3. Conducting organizational research.

An interview coming up? You can check out the pages of the organization. By visiting company, pages, you can conduct a research on the whereabouts of the company, the hiring process and what others have to say about that organization.

4. Getting Recommendations

LinkedIn has a feature through which you can get other people to recommend you. People with a maximum number of recommendations have a great chance of attracting the employers’ attention.

5. Increasing your visibility.

Today, majority of recruitments are done through LinkedIn. If you have created a cool professional profile, chances are you will attract employer’s attention.

Employability of our students is a key priority here at UWL- RAK branch campus. Hence, we exhort you to create profiles on LinkedIn and start connecting with professionals. If you prepare yourself as early as possible, you can easily stay ahead of your competition when it comes to landing a job of your interest.

All the very best!!!
