UAE, like all Arab nations, prospered with the support of oil and majority of the world still perceives UAE as an oil-producing nation receiving its core income from oil. Breaking all stereotypes & diversifying the portfolio, UAE shifted from an oil-producing nation to generating income from various industries. Especially, tourism & technology.
UAE is seen creating and breaking records in all fields. With the largest manmade structure, to the biggest manmade island, UAE has created records in various industries & fields of technology. UAE displayed to the world what is possible when genius minds get together. UAE holds the record for the first 3D printed office which was created and is owned by the Dubai government.
The covid pandemic saw companies shift their operations to digital mediums. UAE played a crucial role in developing the digital workspace by providing the infrastructure and workforce to develop & secure these spaces. A high rate of vaccination among the UAE residents also helped UAE grow its economy in tech & other industries. No tax and minimal trade barriers add an advantage to the same.
UAE is a fitting example of how an economy can grow with the adaption of modern technology. UAE telecom providers Etisalat & Du were some of the first communication providers in the world to give people access to 5G technology.
Also, with the UAE government providing a platform for start-ups, venture capitalists and genius minds come together in UAE since the market is a key point in the MENA region and provides access to the global market through its infrastructure, port, and geopolitical positioning.
Being a crucial point of trade in MENA and some of the greatest economies in Aviation, oil and gas has made UAE vulnerable to many cyber-attacks. To protect the national security and information infrastructure, UAE has made compliances for respective entities to follow. Therefore, Cybersecurity firms & Cybersecurity providers are expanding their operations to UAE.
UAE is also one of the biggest and growing construction industries. The construction industry is on the lookout to minimize cost and maximize output by adapting technology to their daily operations. From efficient energy management to construction management software, tech also provides a helping hand to these industries.
UAE also wants to improve its presence in the development and adaption of Artificial intelligence which is why the government of UAE established the smart police station, Universities, and the ministry for Artificial Intelligence.
UAE is expected to grow its presence in the technology industry. From start-ups, and SMEs to big multinational corporation, companies shifting their presence to UAE and changing the operation methods from physical to digital workspaces through software and AI (Artificial Intelligence), indicates that UAE will remain the CenterPoint for tech trade & development in the MENA region for a long time.
